About Us

At Beevers Manufacturing we work to bring peace of mind to patients, family and caregivers by providing products to ensure patient safety and comfort. More specifically, we focus on products for neonatal and pediatric respiratory care.

When we say “It’s all about the babies®,” we mean it. We got started in this business when Kate Beevers, who is a Respiratory Therapist, invented the Tilson Trach Guard™ to help Nick Tilson, a very special little boy.

In the summer of 1986 she was working in the pediatric intensive care unit at St. Luke’s Hospital in Boise, Idaho when Nick first came to visit. He was about a year old and had been trached early on because of a congenital condition. He was getting more vigorous by the month; however, he was plagued by periodic pulmonary problems that seemed to set him back. Because of his condition his parents were constantly anxious and occasionally needed a day or two just for themselves. On one of those respite visits, the nurses were alerted when his oxygen monitor’s alarm went off. Nick had occluded his trach opening and was quietly crashing.

Kate saw a critical need to help prevent such blockages of pediatric tracheostomy tubes and went to her husband Tim, an engineer by training, to ask his help. Together they created what became the Tilson Trach Guard™ and the subsequent 1987 launch of Beevers Manufacturing.

In 1987 Beevers Manufacturing was incorporated for the purpose of making the Tilson Trach Guard™available to kids who needed it. Then in 1993 we introduced the Cannulaide® as an adjunct to CPAP therapy; followed in 2006 by the Sticky Whiskers® cannula securement device. We use well-established U.S. firms to do our basic manufacturing operations and we handle the R&D, marketing and fulfillment operations at our Oregon headquarters.

Our president, Kate Beevers, has been a practicing respiratory therapist since 1974 and has pretty much “seen it all and done it all,” from general floors to the ER, from clinical instruction to a variety of intensive care units. She still works occasionally at a regional hospital in their Special Care Nursery to keep her finger on the pulse of the respiratory care field. Kate truly is the creative spark in our company and it is her indomitable “can do” spirit that gives rise to our products.

Our vice president, Tim Beevers, spent twenty years at Hewlett-Packard as an engineer and R&D project manager, developing products ranging from computer peripherals to cardiographs and defibrillators. If you use these HP products you might still find Tim’s name etched somewhere inside. It is Tim’s knowledge in the areas of regulatory, quality assurance, development engineering, marketing, project management and business operations that keep us on track in the day to day business management parts of our job.

We like, whenever possible, to get out and visit our customers. We enjoy sharing stories about the “good saves” and we also enjoy those talks in which we have no answers, but plenty of empathy for the difficult jobs our customers face.

As we say at Beevers Manufacturing, “It’s all about the babies®.”
